Snow Squalls and Stone Walls
February 1st thru 3rd
$500 per person
This workshop will consist of sketching, color studies and a final large winter scene developed through photos and onsite observation.
Composition will be a priority as we concentrate on light and shadow, focal point and balance, while using multiple layers of thin washes to build depth and atmosphere. We'll also explore masking techniques to create textures and retain whites, practice painting trees and branches, and sample paint colors that break up and granulate when drying. Bring a sketchbook to practice drawing and keep a visual record of your stay!
